he deep sleeps inside dreams

seeming more innocent than mean

new sun kisses him with light beams

lending him its pure sheen

while with bags, she leaves his regime

This makes me think of a cruel "mister" by her leaving his "regime" and I would guess that he only is sweet looking in his dreams. Did I get that right? Congrats on your win,Caycay. soupmail for you too.

powerfully penned CayCay it must be so difficult to escape an abuse relationship and slipping away whilst he's sleeping deeply is a perfect way:-) I love the way you've portrayed the guy mean but sleeping peacefully with no guilty feelings. I especially love that 3rd line!:-) hugs Jan xx
