He B L E S S E D Me - 2
He blessed me with hope
When my feelings told me
I didn’t have a chance
That misery was my condition
And I’d never see the wisdom
Of giving from my heart
A part of my kindness and grace
Knowing that my prayers
Would somehow bring my faith
All the assurance that I needed
To just let go and keep believing
He blessed me with courage
When I wasn’t feeling very strong
Almost like I was completely wrong
And didn’t have a leg to stand on
Because my heart was weak, so weak
It felt like I couldn’t breath
Like something inside me stirred
In the darkness and dread, the fear
That awakened my yearning for
A sense of serenity and strength
That comes from giving in to Him
Leaning on His power and love
Without ever doubting His grace
He is the One who can lift me
From the darkest of the shadows
The dimness of the bluest tear
The night of that piercing dread
The feelings that bring terror
Beckoning me to nightmares
And coloring my hopes in blackness
He blessed me with fulfillment
Serenity amid the chaotic
Joy when all seems lost
Inspiration when life is hard
A melody when I don’t have a song
Light when the night is so bleak
Beauty when gloom seeks me
He blessed me with a everlasting love
The kind that brings true joy
And wisdom from His home above
The kind that grows truth and kindness
Laughter amid the haunting despair
Gentleness when all else seems futile
Friendship that will never fail
The miracle of a faith that is alive
Living in the soul, coloring all the life
In sincerity and wonder, elation
That comes from knowing
This God of the bible, the same One
My whole life and hope is based on
Will someday welcome me home
To the heaven where He is waiting for me!
He blessed me with His Son
And His love lingers on and on
