Two young lovers discern from up afar a night heron in its graceful lithe flight searching safe haven as storm hide its star danger threatening it from its dire plight. An owl's screech piercing the veiled evenfall. Lightning flashes generate fear, hope lost in their cold arms near a gnarled oak they stall, trembling and afraid of the falling frost. Far off they hear the whinnying of mares, The bellow of bulls but the rain falls hard, relieved they could not hold back their hot tears they see light shining within a backyard. A farmer helps them with hot food-laden. Like the heron, find their cosy haven.

Doppler does fail us, these two were clearly not expecting that storm; glad they had that farm to dry out. Nicely penned.

Sometimes it's fun to get caught in the rain and sometimes it's not. Great job as always my friend with great imagery. God Bless, JB

I was thrilled with the happy ending, Victor. One can easily imagine the couple's relief at finding hot food and a safe haven from such a terrible storm. A wonderful sonnet. :) Evelyn

As always a wonderful write Victor, how lovely it’d be to receive such kindness from a stranger…… “How it must disturb the birds, when a storm breaks o’er the earth.” ~ Belle

Victor, your imagery captures the landscape as it relates to human life. You acquire that great feeling when you seek refuge from a storm and regain your confidence while waiting for it to pass. Wonderful sonnet, stay safe with my kindest regards

I always think about where birds find shelter in a storm. How kind of you to be concerned about them in your gentle sonnet.
