Have You

Have you walked the bushland trails?
With Banksias all around
And whiffed the scent of rotting leaves
All scattered on the ground

Have you walked with sand beneath your toes?
Amidst the seashells lining beach
Your hair all blowing in the wind
As salty air your mouth does reach

Have you lifted up your face?
And felt the snow-flakes on your skin
The feel of this is oh, so great
As Autumn dies, winter comes in

Isn't it great to be alive?
With so much beauty on this earth
To smell the flowers in the morn
As new day it comes to birth

Dear Vera I have to be honest with you sis, I don't get into football or baseball, at all I did the cowboys for Linda the destroyer. I like ice skating, and gymastics, I do like to watch bike racing, or car racing at times but that's about it. I can write about it, but sports like the football or baseball just doesn't thrill me at all. I do enjoy nature walks, and to explore the outdoors, nature is always changing, and it's just wonderful because you never see the same thing twice. cheri

Cheryl my dear, dear friend, you do sound so much like me, we have quite a bit in common, like you I do not like contact sports but I do like car racing and motor bike racing as my brother rides sidecar and has done for years, in fact we grew up with cars and motor bikes, I also do like Ice skating, not that I have ever done it myself, bit old for it now, anyway my dear I am waiting for you to visit so we can go on nature walks together, take care my dear......Vera

Dear Vera The way you've written this one, with such imagery I feel like I'm their right beside you. The swaying of the wind, traveling along the beach, the warmth of the sand between our toes, us watching the guys fishing or just shoting the breeze. Boy I'd love to come and visit you guys. And see an in person this beautiful country in which you live. cheri
