Have We Learned Nothing

Have we learned nothing!!!???
That the “gods” do not bleed
That fervor and fear are fools
Dancing on the edge of folly.

Peace but a sleepy hollow
Dozing in the woods
Awakening to the horror
Of wars “alarm” clock.

“The gods must be crazy”
Sacrificing their lambs
To feed the desires
Of ravenously rabid wolves.

And we, poor fools,
Bow to them all
Praying for a dream
Defended by death.

Must our faith now be placed
In prayer, muted by hate,
Shouted to distant” gods”
Have we learned nothing!!!??

False religion has long played a part in the wars of this world. True religion unites. The true God will take vengeance on warmongers, and sooner than many think

Alas,Tom, we(they) all believe that "ours" is the one true god.

Written with passion and straight from the heart John. You know, I can envisage this as a soliloquy being delivered with gusto on a stage in some Shakespearean play somewhere. Nice one. Cheers - Gary

Apparently not, John. The dance on the edge of folly has become a charge to annihilate each other. The "gods" hide under cover and do not bleed, but we do, and they don't care as long as greed rules their hearts.
