Haunting Torment
I walk down this path to see
What once became of me.
In dark ages of before
When swords and rope delivered gore.
These houses they are the same
The church bells sounds remain
The hills and the stream
All know me and why I had to leave
I find a way to the door
Of so many decades afore
Where killers they stained the street
With love that was for me
Found guilty in a lawless trial
I now stand in front of the tree without a smile.
Where tied rope and me
Hung for all people to see
Time consumes the soul of me
Innocence lost in a world of cruelty
Sorrow burned from the heart of me
Pain in life you would not believe
Followed with this soul who can’t get free.
