Hats Off To Cats
Hats of to cats,
They have no trouble smelling rats,
All they can eat for free,
Always someone to pay the vet fee,
Sleep anytime, anywhere,
Never working in the midday sun,
Nine lives full of fun,
Always places to hide,
Not often getting taken for a ride.
No keys to lose,
Or doors to close,
Coats never needing dry-cleaning,
Never bothered by advertising,
Stuck up trees with no fear,
Ladders will appear.
Never short on cuddles,
Good at avoiding puddles,
Not answerable to the law,
Even when they claw,
A place reserved by the fire,
Whenever they desire,
And one on top of the bed,
When not being fed.
Hats off to cats,
For catching so many rats,
But I don't think I could live that way,
Without coffee and chocolate having a part to play.
