Harry the Christmas Camel

Aimee is starting to write poetry and childrens books. This is her Christmas poem called Harry the Christmas camel. She really does have a beautiful gift. One proud Mama. Ps her younger siblings loved it. It's worth the read.

We have all heard of great many stories once told.
Some are new while others are old.
Still, There remains one which is greatest.
Not a creature to live would ever debate this.
For once upon a time of importance,
There lived many people who would one day record this.
And so the events which you soon will hear
All came together for a certain Day of the year.
In a land which God watched over with love.
There lived many folks who awaited a star from above.
Yet one sweet creature did not share in this joy.
He was Harry the camel, a sad little boy.
His fur was not tan like the rest of his friends and often he wished that his looks might just mend.
Instead he was white with a huge mark on his chin
This made other camels stare and then grin.
So on this Night, he decided to leave the old stall
He ate his hay, drank his water, and walked out feeling quite small.
Still all in all,
He hoped a better life waited.
So , Harry continued to walk , noticing faces elated
Ignoring their glee, he hung his head low
Until his eyes found a big belly on a woman in tow.
She seemed a bit frantic, as she held onto a hand.
Of this ordeal, Harry did not understand
Yet he walked toward them nicely,
Despite his own sadness.
And when he sat down, the woman's face beamed with gladness.
She climbed on to his back.
Her weight was quite heavy on top
But Harry kept walking , he refused to now stop.
The Night grew darker and the sweet woman did pray
"My Lord, lead us to the place where we will stay"
Every inn refused them, Not one light was present
But Harry felt a great peace, he just knew it was God sent.
For this reason, he pressed on in this quest.
He believed God had lead him to bring these people the best.
What a wonderful idea then came to his mind.
What if all the other camels, considered him kind?
Surely that is better than being so sad. From now on in, he would rather be glad. Even when others made fun of his fur,
He would show them his heart and the niceness it learned.

Well, upon his wondering,
The woman beckoned to stop.
The man said "Here Mary, the Lord has provided a spot."
All shepherds and sheep gathered around,
Harry waited along with them but did not make a sound.
He saw three wise men , and even more shepherds surrounded
Then came a cry,
As a voice from heaven abounded.
A sweet , precious baby, Who they finally saw
Was praised by so many,
As their songs sang of awe.
God's light shown over this sweet happening
As an angel announced , that born here is Christ, Jesus , King of all kings.
Suddenly Harry knew his great purpose.
It did not come from what others saw on his surface
Yet rather, This night, as he laid, by the Babe's side,
He knew with all certainty, Love Himself had arrived.
And for those who still wonder where God may sometimes be , Just listen to this , The greatest Story.
