Harlequin Existence

Within her book she lives
Where the characters are not fake
But rather real and a daily part
Of her life and love life

Within each chapter
She finds her sanctuary
Where she can travel from city to city
Creating homes or rather dwellings
As life becomes an experience
Instead of being a daily chore

Her encounters
Become that of others fantasies
Whereby she is the object of affection
She becomes the desired woman
That all men wish to have
And all women wish to be

I used to be one of those Harlequin addicts. Now I seldom pick up the books. My husband played in a band and I had weekends in which I got lost in the books. Time flies fast when you are reading . Now I write poems and get on line. I sometimes get lost on the computer. God Bless Phyl

I know a gal that was a Harlequin addict. She could get lost in these books. I am an avid reader but prefer a different style. Reading is wonderful no matter what. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us. Happy Writing! Karen

I live in a world that is not my own Michael, and this poem speaks of that. I travel with dreams daily and I am usually void of reality. This poem works very well. Nice job. Chris
