Hare & Snake

I twitch
and switch
to face the feared foe ...
how does he always know
which way I will go?
How he does follow
this dance
my trance ...
as I hold so still
hoping he will
slither on by.
Every day
we sway
and now I face the terror
to leap
away to the warren so deep
and hope he
will only sleep
until next we meet.

Sue, I have to ask you something that I've wanted to ask since I first saw you on this site. Do you have a sister that went to LaVilla School of the Arts and helped put on some Christmas performances in some nursing homes? (1997-ish) And does your family hold "Bread Night?" If so, hi! If not, I know those questions make no sense. So, I'll get right to the rest of this comment. Congratulations on your well deserved placement in Matt Caliri’s “Funnest-Hardest Poem Ever. Lovingly, Dane

You seemed to have done this so effortlessly. I fear I am unable to enter this one. Nice work and good luck Sue! Love, Shar
