Notes About The Poem

Funny Man Sick And Tired Of Yard Work, Working Royalty Free Stock ...

Hard Working

I’ve worked hard, my muscles are sore.
It’s hard to sleep because I snore.
She said, “it’s time, I’ll have no more,
To the couch”, she evened the score.

Don’t think bad of her, she was right.
After all this was the third straight night.
I had the chance to save my plight,
The choice to work on wasn’t bright.

Another day’s work still to do,
I guess I could just hire a crew.
Straighten it up when they are through.
What to do, I don’t have a clue.

I need to learn to slow the pace.
Take a few days, it’s not a race.
Fruit trees and flowers all in place.
Puts a smile on my sweetheart’s face.

Hello Bill, My husband use to snore, that did not bother me. What bother34d me was when he stopped snoring, i had to wake him up. To see if he was alright. Your friend, Darlene/ Enjoy your evening my friend.

Hi Bill, My husband used to snore but since having a serious operation, nothing to do with snoring, i have not heard him once since. I must agree it was hard hearing my daring snoring, but believe it or not, I got used to it. Hugs, Jennifer

Love and relate to the pic. Well written poem and if true, yes, slow pace for joy in labor to take place. As for the snoring, you should have married a deep sleeper which is advice way too late to help you. Enjoyed the read and wish to thank you for comments on my POTD.

Hi Bill, as we age sometimes we take on more physically than we should. I was a good walker until my early 60’s when arthritis took my long walks away from me. My brother on Long Island is 66, and still goes into his labor job, but I think he’s thinking about retirement in the next few years. Well composed poem and I surely can relate. Autumn Saturday evening blessings to you and Sara :)

Hey Bill, totally cracked me up while still feeling so real! I love how you mixed humor with the honest grind of hard work and the little domestic battles that come with it. I could totally picture the scene, the sore muscles, the snoring, the “couch consequence,” and making your sweetheart smile, perfect. Super relatable and charming. Autumn Blessings, Bill, Daniel

Thanks for the comment, my friend; I got a smile out of it. I'll be inactive for a while, struggling a bit right now. No serious medical reasons, but a few troubling thoughts on my mind lately. Blessings my friend, Bill
