Happy To See You

Since you were gone
It was the coldest chapter of our lives
The house was empty without you
I couldn't face your mom
As your dad I failed you
I remembered the day
The social workers took
both of you away
Me and your mom
never stopped loving you
We fought hard for you
Mom wasn't dealing very well with it
By some miracle
you both returned home
Only mom needed to return
She was happy to see you were back
You her babies were back
What a wonderful sight
We happy to see you our daughters

There is nothing like family nor the emptiness of it.

This would be the "coldest chapter of your life" for sure! I am glad this poem had a happy ending.
