Happy Hope
Happy Hope
I see the shimmering sunshine,
Nor may I touch its rays,
Held hostage by the crushing cold
Behind winter’s windows to wait.
To soon be free to run and play,
To sing with new spring birds,
Spread weakened arms in artist’s clouds
And taste the hope of home.
