Happy Days Again, My Commie Friend

Happy Days are here, my commie friend
                 Iran holds America hostage again

In ’79 the embassy, now the Hormuz
each time Uncle Sam sports an ugly bruise

Ah, but happy days are here, my commie friend
                   DSA's* ascendant; freedom’s gonna end
                       Only question's ~ When?

A sign of the times for sure. Well put and very appropriate, Gershon.

FDR was considered a commie, for Social Security. Everything ran by government Is socialism, Fire dept the police etc. Would you prefer everything to be privatized? Hmm🤔social injustice

2nd comment. I support you sweet Gershon, its political opinion and history facts, an innocent question asked.. you are very kind poet and so am I. I found it a little ranty & pitchy, good word rhymes. :) Blessings 🙏

FDR wasn't just considered a commie. He was a commie. Just like today's fools. Totally out of touch with the folks he claimed to represent... But FDR was a patriotic American -- unlike today's America-haters . Eleanor Roosevelt would have made a much better President. She was elegant and first-class. A liberal -- but tough as nails when she had to be. Too bad the times weren't right. (And, yes, '';liberal" is a dirty word in today's lexicon... for enabling the progressives and the DSA'ers). By the way, Anaya, on this site, you are supposed to be commenting on the poetry and encouraging the poet. 'NICE TRY.'
