Notes About The Poem

Happy Birthday,Cousin Yolanda

             6/10/2025

Dearest Cousin Yolanda~

Ponderings on our days so very long ago,
When we were the stars of our parents’ lifelong show.
How proud they were to have us at their side!

We were precious and cared for, like angels with sweet smiles
I saw you blossom from a charming, sweet, little girl.
Your mother loved and cared for you, like an expensive, shiny pearl.
I see you as the same diamond child that you once so happily were.

Love,
Cousin Pangiota

Dear Pangie, such a sweet poem you've written for your cousin. The best gift ever. I really enjoyed reading this poem especially this line “I see you as the same diamond child that you once so happily were” is so heart touching. Best, Anne

Yolanda is my cusin, you would like her very much. She is very kind funny and makes you feel at home all the time.. I took care of her my time she was born we were kids we played together. Then I became her babysitter… When she was very small, we went to Atlantic city together with her parents. That was so much fun.. her father was my escort to the red and white ball when I was a debutante. He could dance every dance.. not all men are good dancers, but my uncle Pete was. Pangie.

Growing up with someone and being close to them can be very rewarding. Seeing the love and being part of that love as you grew up is a very special memory one should never lose. Being a cousin that seems to be more like a sister is just amazing-

Henneth, Good Day! I never had a sister, but I had a few cousins and yolanda and I are very close. Sadly, my other two cousins Madeline and cousin Bruce died when they were young but cancer took them. Bruce was like a brother. Madeleine is my lost sibling. So at least there is Yolanda..I really enjoyed talking to her and I haven’t seen her for years, but I have written poems about her before or about our life together. She is so great! I don’t know anybody in my life like her! Such a good person. And yes, you are right, we like sisters.. we always crack up on the phone, Kenneth. It’s fun! Thank you for understanding me. Pangiexx
