Notes About The Poem

For the Bard's Birthday

Happy Birthday, Shakespeare

“Brevity is the soul of wit.” Shakespeare (from Hamlet, Act 2, scene 2)

Succinctness must be kin to wit.
In his own way, Shakespeare said it,
so why use words to flutter and flit.
I’ll finish right here and click submit.

Got a chuckle out of this. If brevity would get it this one will. I enjoyed reading this contest entry. I think it is a good contender myself. Thanks for the humor. Sara K

I'm clapping, I would stand up, but my head decided to HURT today and deny me time with the new precious one. It's our last day so it's a bummer (pouting.) Truly, Andrea, this is clever poem that, I believe, would have impressed the Man, Himself. Love ... CayCay
