Hand of Nature

The Earth spins around Divided by it's deep faults But mostly covered with ocean Wafting the Earth with it's salts Winds whip up and fly away Spreading pollen in all seasons Tornado alley is a given Why live there, what are the reasons? Fire in multitudes cleaning mountains Lightning strikes the tallest Pine I am witness to this fact Almost burned me out, sublime Water flows in every stream And it falls freely from the sky There seems to be a shortage And why? I can't even surmise It never changes what it does But in the end, it's all for us

It's so good to see you back, Mitch, and read this excellent entry for Barbara's Elements' contest. Beautiful use of imagery and a sense of both peace and nature's wrath fill this poem. Wish you success in the contest and hope you'll enter one for the lawyer limericks. Love, Carolyn
