Hammock of Wind

a seed I am, my silky hair loose without band.
a voyager on a hammock of wind-
drifting up and down with no compass to direct.
the sky warmly greets, nothing to obstruct.

I carry no heavy burden or luggage
if I plunge on land, I will manage,
to tether my roots deep down,
into soil to be reborn a thistledown.

Dear Valsa, reading your words leaves you feeling light on your feet, with a newfound appreciation for the freedom that comes when we finally let go of the steering wheel and let the wind do the work. Blessings, Daniel

There's one thing for sure; the weeds' seeds can get transported one way or another to ensure that they will survive. Some have some beauty, healing properties, and interest, but some seem only to be blessed with negativity. I enjoyed reading this one. Sara K.

Valsa, your poem is so lovely and calming. An upbeat, creative flow with a whimsical touch and metaphor. The metaphor of a seed carried on the wind symbolizes liberation, resiliency, and rebirth. Excellent, inspiring work, Valsa. Stay true to who you are at your core, and success will follow you wherever you go. There is no life apart from it! Wishing you all the best!

Its amazing how youv seen and shown life through the analogy of a hammock freely going through the breeze of life in the wind! How brilliant is this! And to carry no heavy burden or grudges is an accomplishment sweet valsa ~ really! And i feel your heart is sincere and kind and genuine! I really love the lines "drifting up and down with no compass to direct. the sky warmly greets, nothing to obstruct." Sometimes with no compass but your intuition and heartbeat to guide can be th best way forward! Pleasure reading ~ sending you light always! This is a fave for me

For me this poem has a strong central metaphor and a gentle, optimistic emotional arc. It speaking about freedom, resilience, and renewal through the image of a windborne seed. A great use of metaphor to create an analogy, love the dandelion seed. The poem may be short, but there are several lines that are especially evocative, like reborn a thistledown and no compass to direct. Best of luck in the contest my friend.

Wow, dear Valsa, beautiful poetess.. your words feel truly liberating.. and inspiring! As if the soul has finally found its earthbound freedom ~ the roots ~ where it belongs, yet soaring high carefree reaching the skies ... I love the opening lines so much "a seed I am, my milky hair loose without band" drifting like a spirited seed ..! Just impeccably done.. "to tether my roots deep down, into soil to be reborn a thistledown" Love this so much, a favourite from you! Sending you light and love.
