Hammer In Hand

You always laughed at me In that funny way of yours Standing at the door ~ looking out to see Wondering where you are, and will you follow me With hammer in hand ~ Into nature decked with silver and gold Do you possess a loving heart with stories untold By now they know what you are made of Reflections that come from your eyes they see Though they walk with you in a style of their own Shaped into the figure of a man with beauty of a woman A tree in the forest is cut down shaped into the form of a goddess A goddess that will take us through time and back again Though time is an elusive thing here as we all know Hammer in hand into nature decked with silver and gold Time means nothing when the heart is near I am told Does a tree feel the pains of a cut as we do, I ask you I have struggled all my days with thoughts like these To figure out what the true meaning really is to me If you know can you tell me too as we walk together With hammer in hand into nature decked with silver and gold

When something is sacrificed for our benefit (like a tree) there is a disturbance in the balance of nature. So we have to be really careful. You are very special to be thinking about this, since most do not and have no idea about consequences of our own actions. We have to be careful in so many endeavors. That you understand this makes you a gold and silver hammer with words.

Coming back to this one of yours which is so profound. I just can't find one that is new for me. Maybe I should start at the beginning again and just review them all over again. I must remind myself next time to do that, debbie!!

The tree of life feels the woodsmans axe, and thinks such is life when the timber cracks, and consciousness is free, departing from this tree, not dead the spirit see, the tree of life is whacked, let the buggers be! re: " Hammer In Hand" Debbie Duncan by Don

I do not believe that trees feel the same as we do, but I can imagine they are aware of the presence or absence of other growing things in their proximity. So a tree cut down would be noticed by all the others of its neighbors. Oh, I also drop my old books into the bin at the library. My house only has room for so many, but I do hate to part with them.

Thoughts to ponder, Debbie. I've wondered also, if they feel "the pains of a cut as we do". Trees, how we should admire and cherish them! They all have their own unique features and personalities.:) Love this write! Huggs, Mikki

We do our best not to distress another living thing. But we all know the time it takes before we learn to sing. May endless meadows wave hello when your among the trees. And find you grateful for their soul when your down on your knees. An intrigueing poem Debbie. Love the metaphoric musings. Have a lovely day.
