Halloween Haiku

an eerie old house
                                   abode for disgruntled ghosts - 
                                           waits expectantly   

                                            halloween party
                                           by invitation only - 
                                        come at your own risk

                                       costumed guests arrive
                                      unaware of ghostly hosts -
                                            ignorance is bliss

                                          at the midnight hour
                                  the haunted house comes alive -
                                          lurking ghosts appear

                                        human screams abound
                                  ghoulish spirits shriek with glee -
                                            party in full swing

                                        silence greets the dawn - 
                                     shrieking spirits now at rest
                                      but where are the guests?
