Halloween: a Missing Guest

We had an invitee, an alien, from the dead,
Who preferred to eat in parties just yellow bread
And drink tea, yet painted with the colour of red,
On wet floors, assuming he is struggling with flood.

It was a cautionary trip; he came at night,
While vampires were haunting in bowers for a bite;
He did tread alone knowing vampires’ trickery,
Singing from back to front, "…, Dickory, Hickory”.

Not him but an owl at midnight came to our house
With the news of abduction, disguised as a mouse;
My Dad got paralyzed; Mom stood just stupefied
At the climax of Halloween, we felt humified.

Ah, we lost our guest and our grand feasting did rot;
Diabolical spirits furled our feast with a dot.

Looks like you nailed those Halloween words, Newton! I just noticed you put how many syllables per line. I can't remember if that was a requirement. I better go check again!
