Halloween

It’s Christmas
But it feels like Halloween
What’s found and what’s lost
And what’s in between

It’s Christmas
But it feels like Halloween
“A love lost?!
But you’re only eighteen!”

It’s Christmas
But it feels like Halloween
I’m not allowed to feel loss
Because I am a teen…

It’s Christmas
But it feels like Halloween
I’m wearing a mask
So not to be seen

It’s Christmas
But it feels like Halloween
The weight of the cost
Is making me weak

It’s Christmas
But it feels like Halloween
What’s found and what’s lost
I guess I’m in between…
