Half-A-Life

. Half-a-Life

Approaching the first sign of hell.
An instrument of the baby tell.
I receive the blood in a Limbo womb .
An embryo conceived from a cell.
A set life waiting to bloom.
9 months to be stuck inside of a shell.
The first pain of labor revels my doom.
I exit to another Half Life to roam and dwell.
I vanished all excitement in the waiting room.
Abused in my first moment, just to here me yell.
My lungs full of life entering my second tomb.
Yelling my guts to an evil smell.
The smell of entering the Gates of Hell.

Maybe I didn't in those first moments but I have come to love life to the full. I guess for many it has not worked out and for millions living the day to day survival especially. Maybe one day I'll find out if it has for you my Sweet Dark Fiend. Take care, Richard

Hauntingly dark ... and yet full of courage, none can tell the meaning well, like those under the moment's spell. Thanks for being friend

The work of being born. I like the way you paint the picture from the infant's eyes. I'm new to poetry soup, found your work from another poet that commented on mine. Your name made me curious to read your work, happy it did. Monica

Great imagery although sad and pathetic, but brilliantly composed lines revealing some other wonderful skills of your pen. Great write. And many thank for your very unique and precious comments on Patradoot 26. I am so indebted to all my friends of poetry soup for supporting me to bring on the surface this rare book of my father before the world. Love and best wishes always.......Ravindra.......Poet D

Well writen. i enjoy reading every one's work. It helps me improve. I never shared anything I've written, nor have I read anyone else's work. I guess this is probably the only way to improve... My biggest problem I see is that there are so many styles of poetry and I'm not familiar with any of them. Thanks for your interest. I guess I've got my work cut out. Matt T. Love

Surely life can't be that bad! It's all a matter of perspective, "And Satan looked around in Hell and said, 'How awful good Hell is!'" This life can be Heaven or Hell depending on what you make of it. I hope you find your heaven if you haven't already.

P.D. a B. I like Limbo womb, that is a striking phrase. I hope this wasn't an actual delivery because if it was, it's Rosemary's baby part 2. Regards, Gerard and thank you!

That brimstone. Giving birth is hell. I can remember my wife's screaming. This was 57 years ago. She never had another one. Maybe it was just as well. Love, daver
