Half Past Summer, Two Months Till Fall

Half past summer, two months till fall
Leaves are still green, sun shining bold
Flowers still bloom, and birds still call
Half past summer, two months till fall
Visions of Fall, dressed in her shawl
Her breath swirls the leaves, turns them gold
Half past summer, two months till fall
Leaves are still green, sun shining bold

I like this one, Joseph. It is seamless in its progression and with great rhymes as well. Very descriptive and expressive. I enjoyed reading it. Congratulations on your winning work. Way to go. Sara K

Joseph, you have nailed the optimum junction between summer and fall, when the weather is mild yet changes are beginning to appear in nature. Subtle and vibrant!

Congrats on the win in my contest, Joseph. I enjoyed how this pretty triolet transitioned summer into fall by using the words "still summer."

I really like the gentle, peaceful rhythm of this poem—it beautifully captures that sweet spot between summer and fall, with nature still holding onto warmth while hints of change are already in the air. Simple but so vivid!

Half past Summer is still a good place to be, but change of seasons will be nice too :)
