Half Moons

In our late teens
We’d all doll up
Half moons at our heels
Spit shined our shoes
Bell bottom pants
Precisely creased
Bright shirts with poofy sleeves
Hitting the snooker halls
And other local hangouts
Smoking cigarettes
So groovy and so cool
Radio blaring from our cars
Chick magnets
Destination
A&W drivethru
Rolled down windows
Waiting for our trays
Burgers and root beer

Oh the memories this brought back, Line. Thank you for the trip down memory lane in concise word pictures! Congratulations on your win! Only one thought - so glad bell bottom pants have gone the way of hoop skirts!

"Bell bottom pants Precisely creased Bright shirts with poofy sleeves" Yes! I used to refer to them as "hip hugger bell bottoms" and boy did I think they were something! Thank you for the memory.

so cute... I remember those days - I live in a small town and it was still like that for years. Only the kids don't drive around the square and sit at the little curbside diner anymore.. sadly. Your poem brought back memories. Blessings
