Half Full Or Half Empty

Looking through a glass
There's a world for us to see
Some images are beautiful
Some, a distorted reality

The glass is our perception
The glass creates our beliefs
The glass is where we look outside
The glass provides comfort; It isolates you and me

If one were to stop and look inside
Swirl the thoughts around and around
It might cause discomfort
Creating personal thoughts more profound

Thoughts like, Why do I do it?
Why do I judge everyone but me?
Am I a better person?
Or am I lost, avoiding my reality?

The images are like a furnace
Boiling the water inside
Is it good? Is it bad?
Our perception will decide

As we pour ourselves into a glass
Just remember the irony
What I chose to see in others
They may chose to see in me
