Half and Half

I face,
  You face,
    Sad face,
      Happy face.
        I looked in the mirror
        With my tragic mask
        And broke the looking glass.
So I looked again, this time
        With the happy comic mask--
        And blew out the lights.
So start a fire--burn this stage to the ground.
When life calls the awards, I won't be found.
I can't win for losing--I can't even lose for failing.
My failures have overwhelmed my success,
My weakness has overpowered my strengths.
I can no longer face life, I can no longer....
      Face happy,
    Face sad,
  Face you......I can no longer
Face I.

Oh, Shannon - achingly dark, and powerfully heavy. Like me, you utilise the shape of the lines to enhance the story. Thumbs up.
