Cherish past memories ... things are rarely as good second time around Last year we went back to where we used to live ... it had changed so much the memories were much better than the reality 6/12/19

Ain't it the truth!! -- The magic's gone for sure. Perhaps because we're different people seeing it with different eyes... Great food for thought, Jan. :) gw

Sadly this is so true. Nothing ever looks the same. I drove my oldest daughter back to our first home to see the palm tree we planted when she was born and the new owners dug it up and the yard looked naked. My daughter was crushed that her tree was no longer there. : ) xxoo

Jan, so true we can never go backwards in life, I went back to the neighborhood where I lived with my sister who is died and the pretty houses were broken down and falling to ruin, it was a slum, the memory I had cherished was crushed. I wished I had never gone back. Your write is excellent ~

I can relate so much Constance its best to keep the memories in our hearts they can rarely be re created - I can relate to the feeling of the memories being crushed:-) hugs Jan xx

It was quite a disappointment to us to go back to our old stomping ground - we have learned a lesson from it - that said we have an incredible time at the concert we had gone to see so we have special memories of that:-)

Oh how true that is Jan and maybe our memories are seen through rose tinted glasses, so making them even more difficult to replicate. I have sometimes returned to special places visited with my hubby and I do gain some comfort from that, now he has gone. Sweet monoku Jan. Kindest thoughts Ann xx

This is often the case Jan, sometimes its better to hold to our original memory but the temptation is always there to see if it's still the same. Hope all well with you both, Blessings, Gordon

We were both so disappointed - went back to our favourite curry house which was still run by the same family but it had gone 'upmarket' and the food wasn;t a patch on how it used to be but we were with an old colleague of hubby and had a super evening anyway:-( hugs jan xx

Live every day the best you can because you can't go back to make corrections - except in dreams and by memory. Well said, Jan! Aloha! Rico

That is so true Jan, you re visit somewhere from your past and then you wish you hadn't. Memories are fine but it's better to keep moving forward. Tom
