Anne-Lise, this poem creates a powerful sensation of sights, sounds, and smells. This is a thought generating composition. I do say it makes me smile to think about the intensity of that kind of life. I don't think I would have taken to it that well, but it's fun to think about.

Strong Haiku, poem Anne-Lise. With your well-picked words, you make it look live in our minds. Warm hugs my friend

Yep, conquered Sicily for a spell. Many of us are of surprising mixtures. Always thought of myself as Italian, and one of my daughters had a DNA lineage thing done, and we are 3/4 Greek. 1/4 Northern Italy. My grandmother, on my father's side (father had blue eyes) had beautiful strawberry blond hair and blue eyes -- maybe a Viking milk-man:)? Who knows?

They were an interesting group. I was watching the series on them for a while. They sure were rough.

I watched the HBO series Vikings what warriors they were, and seeing where they came from when we met was the icing on the cake. I often think of it. Hope you're having a lovely weekend Anne-Lise. Tom

- The Vikings didn't behave like "angels" ... the first thing I wanted to show you was the popular Viking farm at Avaldsnes on the island of Karmøy ... what a shame it was closed to the public that week, Tom - Hope everything is well with you and Jane :) - Have a nice week :) - hugs
