Haiku Chain

Brave Daffodils Through half-frozen ground Push the slender stalks of green, Cold, brave daffodils! Warmth of days to come Will bring the shoots to flower – Sunny daffodils! Light up the landscape. Still brittle, brown and dreary, Dancing daffodils! Daisy Dance Summer flowers fade, Their showy petals droop, Still the daisies bloom. Atop glossy green White daisies’ upturned faces Smile in profusion. Hail to the daisies! String them into garlands for Dancing, barefoot maids!

Both simply marvelous, Barbara. I love both, and you have captured their essence beautifully. Good writing!

I do love the haiku form. It is so spare, yet can convey so much! Thanks for your lovely comments.
