LOVE this. (if for the contest, only write haiku and no date) though personally, I would have folks say senryu!

Well, Andrea, this was written as a response to having to be part of the "shotgun wedding" of Haiku and Senryu. I have never been a big rules guy but here on the Soup I have developed a respect for the poetic forms and learned so much from so many that has improved my writing.
