You are right - the International Whaling Commission banned commercial whaling over 30 years ago; but there are countries such as Iceland, Japan, and Norway (they use harpoon grenades that are supposed to kill whales "efficiently") that still support commercial whaling and seek to lift the ban. It is so appalling that in this day and age when there is so much outcry about taking care of the Earth and our natural resources, and there are still some people who continue to hunt whales and other endangered species for various reasons including profit and sport.
