Haiku - Fickle Spring 2017
a starfish
does not shine brightly
its colour blinds
~~
nightingales sing
enhancing dusk time moments
inviting darkness
~~
fickle springtime
not halted natural instincts
summertime awaits
~~
sun glints... melts late frost
ere the north wind... tis bitter
freezing unsheltered
~~
ice smooth lakes
succumb... thin ice gone by noon
swans get their heads down
~~
starling young all fledged
small flocks not gone unnoticed
comb the grass for grubs
~~
instinct killed the bees
suffered inclement weather
snow frost and showers
~~
moorland... spring forgot
windswept drifts of snow... no mercy
spring it got scary
~~
butterflies one day
orange tip... wood brown...
frost and snow the next
