4u or any1 who sponsors contests a ? The contest stipulations as posted by Poetry Soup, have one stating, no illustrations, nothing on it being compulsory, or is it? That is my question, 4 if images r permissible then it would make possible the form haiga. As is Gregory, that is what you have, inadvertently, I dont know, done. Yes, by adding a pic u have converted yor haiku in2 a haiga, a combination of both. Now had that been pos then 2nd would of been 1st Congratulations regardless a good 2nd.

I also always assumed that the "no illustrations" stipulation was for the poem submission body itself, as that is all that appears to me when I am judging. Again, no excuse, just explaining where my misconceptions came from. I thank you very much for clarifying for me! :-)

I thought the photos or illustrations did not appear to the sponsor/judge, and I sincerely apologize ... when I do contests, there is only the poem and whatever the poet types at the bottom, so I assumed it was that way for every sponsor, or I certainly would NOT have posted any photo. I must admit that I am new to this poetry thing, (I have only been writing poetry about 16 months), and so I am also unfamiliar with the fact that a photo/illustration changed Haiku to something else. Ignorance is certainly no excuse, but I do try to follow directions, and had I know that the photo would show up in judging, I would not have submitted it that way. Thank you very much for the placement and the lesson ...

Knowledge, growth and wisdom rarely come without pain, but now I KNOW, and I am thankful for the knowledge. Blessings, My Friend.
