Had I the Same Age
How wild is youth? This is rarely questioned,
it's an age where anything is permitted,
and in the rush of days, it gets wasted;
who other than I detests what is so absurd?
Had I the same age, I would take the advice
from whom has already lived and loved it;
don't question my harsh introspection:
you can learn how to use your intuition.
Is youth that time for feeling happy and silly,
letting someone else worry about a responsibility?
I would fairly agree to a certain degree, but I protest:
how can somebody so young carry an extreme weight?
Live your youth care-free and don't give up anything,
do that later on you won't regret missing out on something;
chase the glory of dreamers, accomplish those milestones,
and be remembered for your audacity and firmness!
Had I the same age? I would conquer at will what is inexpugnable,,
writing down all my earned victories, either big or small;
whatever your ego is: let your aspiration climb any wall,
and if strength is the ultimate choice: your triumph is inevitable!
