GULLIBLE LITTLE BEN

GULLIBLE LITTLE BEN

The man coming home, used to wear
a military suit.
Man’s older, godly now,
not innocent … recruit.

Ben heard recruiters promises,
made to women and men.
Enlist, travel, you’ll see the world, 
gullible … little Ben.

And so Ben donned a uniform,
looked handsome as could be.
No one warned little Ben of
killings … he’d do and see.
.
Christmas Eve in foxhole, Ben thought,
“should be peaceful, not fight.” 
Thought, “must have been out of his mind,”
he’d known … killings not right.  (1

Christians killing other Christians,
saw Priest blessing each gun.
No one, on either side,
peaceful men … like God’s Son.  (2

What no one ever mentioned, and
took war for Ben to see.
The blood guilt, and shame carrying,
not who … he wants to be!

Sad, took blood guilt of war for Ben
to recognized his sin.
Read, God was not hearing his prayers,  (3
with blood on hands … and skin.

Wasn’t thinking when he signed up,
but now he understands.
Ben’s in prison, cause no longer
 disobeys … God’s commands!  (4

Ben's crime, “Won't kill fellow humans.”  
now God’s approval hears.
Became a Witness, taught others 
in prisons … many years.  (5

Ben’s a peaceful Bible teacher,
neutral in world affairs.
Scripture on U.N. wall obeyed, (6
“Beat swords … into plowshares.”

3- Is.1:15 "although you offer many prayers, I 
am not listening, your hands are filled with blood.

4- Romans 12:18- “as far as it depends on you,
              be peaceable with all men.

5-Matt. 28: 19-20 ”Go therefore and make disciples

6-Isaiah 2: 4 -“They shall beat their swords into plowshares,
neither shall they learn war anymore.”

Note: 2 Tim. 3:16  "All scripture is inspired of God, beneficial
for teaching, for setting things straight …" 
Mal.3:16 "I am the LORD: (Jehovah) I do not change."

Kim Rodrigues November 20, 2025 at 5:30 AM I feel for anyone not having the first clue what they are getting into. There are many who have lost limbs, etc.. who are courageous and still stand up for others.

Kim Rodrigues November 20, 2025 at 5:29 AM Not a sin. Now King David killed many…God didn’t let him build the temple because of much bloodshed. The followers of God did fight and protect themselves. I’d rather be a peacekeeper and not be armed…my choice.
