Guard Against Complacency

In this journey called life, heed my plea,
And guard against this demon of misery
Beware of its insidious touch, subtle and sly,
For it steals the fire that makes our spirits fly.

A false sense of comfort, safe and securely rest,
Bombarded by routines, a false sense of what's best.
Yet in this state, dreams begin to fade,
Passion dwindles like a broken blade.

So easily it will creep and quickly sneaks in,
And quietly settling like whispers of the wind.
It will dull our minds and numb our hearts,
Leaving us adrift and devoid of various parts.

But it's only in striving and pushing beyond,
That we will find the melody of a beautiful song.
As it will shackle our minds until limits we reach,
While ambition dwindles and ignites souls to breach.

Let us now battle this foe with fierce desire,
And rekindle our spirit, setting it on fire.
Embrace the challenges that lie so purposefully ahead,
And with each step forward, let our passion be fed.

For we must fight against this common foe's hold,
As our potential blossoms and our stories unfold.
We must become warriors fierce, bold and strong,
Embracing our growth forever and dare to move along.

So guard against complacency every creed and age,
And let not its grasp heap fire on your soul in a rage.
Seek out the unknown and find every uncharted terrain,
And watch your dreams come alive as your spirit rise from the stain.
