Grown Up
If you look me in the eyes what would you see?
Would you see me for what I have come to be?
Would you see the pain that I try so hard to hide?
Or do you think the way I have always acted and felt was a lie?
I try my best to live in the present and move on,
But people find it difficult to deal with me now that my patience is gone.
Do not give me your worries. I have plenty of my own.
I need to deal with my life now that I'm grown.
I'm sorry for the things I have done to offend anyone.
Better late than never even though what's done is done.
I know my stay on Earth is not guaranteed to be long.
God take away my pain and help me to remain strong.
Keep me from wrong and hide me from shame.
Let no one judge me as I will do the same.
I'm trying hard to change. Please stay right by my side
To help me when in need and to be my guide.
