Grief Is Like a Snowball
Grief Is Like a Snowball
Grief is like a snowball;
It begins with the first tear for a childhood loss;
A toy, a beloved person, a pet, a school of friends,
And it rolls, gathering flakes,
Then melting when happiness returns,
But never completely,
Still melting and gathering,
Melting and gathering,
Until through the years,
Just packed snowflakes and ice remain,
There are no more tears
Only soft memories of love.
