Grief and Suffering
I can be
A Life sentence to many
Because . . .
The more you love me
The more
I will hurt you in return
I can take away your daylight
Engulf you mind
At night-time
I’m a dark cloud looming
Suffocating
Intoxicating
stealing your happiness
But you can’t lock me away
Not even gain revenge,
I am invisible to nature
A black hole curator
I’m a dark time capsule
Which many will enter
Some, visit me briefly
Others, well
They may never leave
Only you can decide
On the burden
Of which I thrive!
The grave battle with sombre!
However. . .
This is a journey
Which, for many
Look back with pride
A voyage,
Resilience,
Acceptance,
Rest the storm!
The gales finally settle!
The sky is finally blue!
The warmth of the sun . . .
Peace rekindled!
Grief has finally capsized
A personal suffering
Of the worthwhile journey
Embarked
To have loved so deeply
Sorrow is a privilege
Of the soul
To which we now depart
