Grey In November

 pewter clouds hover
          over the slate plate
               of a lake strewn with
       gold and crimson leaves -
   all that remain of
autumn’s brighter days

"all that remain of autumn’s brighter days" creeping into the greyness of November. Very vivid and imaginative, Andrea.

Ready for winter, so the desert can come out of hibernation. Winter is our fun season. Masterful imagery! Well said, Andrea.

A beautifully restrained November scene: the stepped, drifting layout mirrors leaves settling across the lake, while the subtle palette of pewter, slate, gold, and crimson makes autumn’s fading brilliance feel tangible. The closing line carries a quiet, poignant sense of what the season leaves behind.
