Green Eyes Like Diamonds

A tiny black kitten mewed at me
  Green eyes like diamonds sparkling
I motioned 'Come here;' she jumped in my arms
Yet in the morning she'd clean disappeared

I 'Here-kitty-kittied' up and down all the streets
Hoping against hope, my pretty kitty to meet
But instead of 'mew-mew,' there was 'bow-wow' and 'ruff-ruff'
~ For my tiny kitty I cried... I think I've told you enough

Not to worry. The poem's only loosely based on something that happened a long time ago. :) gw

My own kitty has green eyes, but she is a gray tabby - so sorry you lost your kitty friend :(

Actually this was pure fiction, based on a different reality from a long, long time ago... :) gw
