Great Escape

Going on a journey to renew my mind
Ready for distraction from the daily grind
Everybody needs a chance to get away -
Activate their senses on a holiday
Time for liberation from my heavy load
Energy is rising as I hit the road
Singing karaoke to an old-time song
Cares are left behind me as I cruise along
As I catch a glimmer of the glistening sea
Peaceful satisfaction washes over me
End of journey -time to let my soul run free.

Thanks for sharing this; I was delighted... til I reached the last line:"End of journey, back to stark reality." We thank the Lord for moments of blessed escapes. God bless you. Thanks likewise for your uplifting comments and compliments. God bless you.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting,Beata. It's been changed since as I too wanted in the end to continue the feel good factor to the end although the idea of him (always had a male character in my head as I wrote for some reason) being abruptly awoken from a daydream seemed a good idea at first.

This is quite a whimsical acrostic, Wendy. Well written.
