Great Big Words

I'm really quite confused
About this thing we love
I'm talking about our poetry
That's sent from God above

Sometimes we write simple words
For all can understand
While others write elaborately
With their dictionary close at hand

Well I've never been a genius
And some words I've never seen
These words just drive me crazy
You know the ones I mean

Some are written to entertain
And some to make you cry
Others tell of forgotten dreams
That's somehow passed us by

Why do we use those Great Big words
To get our meaning across
They're just falling by the wayside
And the meaning we had is lost

A poem can be magical
Even fill a hollow soul
So try to keep it simple
With the words that we all know

Larry, being of the "simple" persuasion I relate to this very well. God knows, Robert Frost rarely wrote anything a person couldnt understand. Well done. BG
