Gravity at Midnight

Midnight blooms in the gravity of your stare,
A heat that unthreads my name.
Your touch lives loud on the map of my skin,
Like lightning that knows where it came.
No tender simmer, just ocean against cliff,
Salt and surrender collide.
My breath breaks open beneath your tide,
No harbor left to hide.
I am dry earth split for your storm,
Cracked wide for the sky to descend.
One fierce spark in the hollow of dark,
And the waiting will finally end.
Rip hush from the throat of the night,
Lay your wildfire over my own.
Let’s scatter the ashes of caution and doubt,
Leave nothing untouched, overthrown.
No past, no pause, no measured retreat,
Just pulse answering pulse in the flame.
We fall past the edge of restraint,
And rise remade in the same flame
