Gravity would 
lay us down
spread us out flat
to be absorbed…

while God asks
only that we
be ourselves

stand tall

filling our
eyes, hearts 
and pockets
with stars--

Quite piercing musings expressed using tacit, yet awesomely imagerical diction...I believe in the genre-defining brevity of great poetry, principally shorter than other chiefly prosaic literary categories like drama and the novel. Now, to wrap it all up in a correspondingly brief remark - this is a pretty wonderful piece, Joe!
