Gratitude

The older I get the more grateful I am for the things I have in this life. A job, a home, friends and family. An existence free from strife. I work hard and am paid little, my home is modest , at best. But I have all the necessities and a comfortable place to rest. I've so much more than many, which is why I am so grateful for the life that I live. And when I can, I pay it forward. We all have something to give. A smile, advice, or just an ear. I'm there for my family and friends, as they are for me, and always have been. It's a circle that never ends. To list everyone or everything I'm grateful for would fill a very large tome. But I suppose, of all things, I'm most grateful for the safety and peace of my home. 31/08/2020

This speaks in today's culture of violent protestations. My favorite line: "And when I can, I pay it forward." Well-said tribute to gratitude.

Lovely poem, Francine, and I agree. Home is where the heart is and home is our safe haven.

Francine, the "circle that never ends," our family and friends, gives our lives meaning. I'm "grateful" that you received a lifetime PM and are posting poetry again! (I was given one just recently and it made me so happy.) This is a lovely example for your contest! Hugs, Carolyn
