Grandmother

Grandmother

It has been years since you've been gone;
Yet I hear your voice say "Carry On".
I repeat to myself your name out loud;
I hear you say " Child, you make me proud".
I sing a song in your praise;
You echo back "You've kept my ways".
I say a prayer of peace for you;
A single feather confirms you knew.
Grandmother, I shalll visit you again;
"A'Ho my child" rang in the wind.
I came in tears, but leave in peace;
"Be well, dear one" whispered in the breeze
