Grandma's Garden

growing up I use to
smell grandma's garden
sniffing her rose bushes blossoming
beautiful colors of red, white
and pink
I could also smell the heat
from her green peppers as
they lay in wait to be
pick and placed in her jar
filled with vinegar
she also had a special
blue running vine that clings
to everything that it touches
for some reason her garden
always gave me a
calming feeling
