Sally, you certainly have a way to define struggle. This poem makes me stop and think about what it means to do our life's work and what it means looking at it from different perspectives. I also think that we can hopefully have some peace knowing that we've done some good for others and had our heart in our daily routines. There's also a time to sit back, let go, and let our words do the work. How do you get so much in just 10 words. Hope you are well. Smiles!!

Dear Sally, so thought-provoking, and I think about my own retirement coming up in the next 60 days. Do we become useless or are we still valuable? Very introspective. Winter Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

How and why should older people be fired from a job they have held a lifetime, such uncouth behaviour, one day things might turn around, and they will be in the same position. Our world is becoming so self absorbed - quite scary. Deep powerful poem. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

Sally, yes, this does describe current events with clarity and feeling. I can only imagine what some of the people in history we admire would say about today's state of affairs. I'm thinking about what you've stated myself. I know people who work for the USGOV who have been fired. It's a pretty sad thing...these people include some of the most talented and hard working people I have met ever in my life. Smiles to you for writing this!

Thanks for commenting, Deb. Meant to be a metaphor for current events. Sad indeed…
